FAQs

Most PECO products are engineered to work with specific mower brands and models.  Some models may be limited to particular deck sizes and mower engine configurations. Certain models such as the Z-Trimmer and our trailer lines are compatible with a wide range of mowers.  Each product on our main site includes a compatibility guide to help you narrow it down. Still not sure? Our team is happy to help. Call us at 800.438.5823, email peco@lawnvac.com, or reach out online at store.lawnvac.com/contact. Helping you get it right before you buy is our specialty.

The best Z-Trimmer depends on the property. Homeowners with standard residential acreage, typical grass, and light vegetation are well-suited to the Residential Z-Trimmer (model ZT-3100). Larger or commercial properties with heavier workloads may require the Z-Trimmer Pro (model ZT-5000). Browse both models and compare features at store.lawnvac.com/trimmers. Not sure which best fits your situation? Give us a call at 800.438.5823 and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Fit depends on your mower’s deck size and configuration. You need a flat spot to bolt it on, so a fabricated deck, as opposed to a stamped deck, is usually better, and enough clearance so that the Z-Trimmer can be folded up into the transport position without interfering with the operation of the drive sticks on your ZTR mower. Each model has specific mower deck mounting requirements listed under features on its product page. You’ll find compatibility resources at LawnVac.com. If you’re working with an unusual setup or want to be sure before purchasing, reach out to our team at 800.438.5823 or peco@lawnvac.com.

Mounted vacs (aka baggers) are built for ride-on mowers, including garden tractors, compact tractors, zero-turn mowers, and professional-grade machines. Compatibility depends on your mower’s make, model, and deck size, so there’s no one-size answer. To find the right fit for your mower, contact our team directly: call 800.438.5823, email peco@lawnvac.com, or reach out at store.lawnvac.com/contact. We’ll make sure you get exactly what works.

Both collect clippings and debris. A mounted vac attaches directly to your mower and collects material through a boot connected to your mower deck (compatibility varies widely by mower type). A trailer vac hitches to your mower and typically offers greater capacity, making it an ideal choice for larger properties or heavier debris volume. For commercial or residential use with a compatible mower, a mounted vac is typically more maneuverable. For high-volume needs, a trailer vac usually wins on productivity and offers near universal fit. Still not sure? Give us a call at 800.438.5823.

The right trailer vac depends on your property size, debris volume, and towing setup. The X-Series is recommended for smaller residential properties and lighter loads. Larger acreage, commercial use, or heavier debris calls for the Estate Series. Each product page at LawnVac.com lists key specs to help you compare. Questions? Trailer vacs handle the typical yard cleanup lineup: leaves, grass clippings, pine needles, and general light debris. They’re built for volume, not weight, so they’re not the right tool for rocks, heavy gravel, or dense, wet material. Collecting debris outside these guidelines can result in damage to the machine and void your warranty. If you deal with unusual materials or challenging conditions, talk to our team. We’ll help you determine whether a trailer vac is the right fit for your situation.
